King of the Mountain

We hiked Desolation Trail in Millcreek Canyon today.
Winston seemed to really enjoy it (though he slept all the way up and all the way down).

Oh, and my sister-in-law Emily and I encountered a rattle snake on the trail. It was exciting and frightening.

Luxury Living

We have a few things in this apartment that we've never had before (since moving away from our parents' homes years ago).

Namely:

- an automatic dishwasher
- central air
- a garbage disposal
- a coat closet
- a counter in the bathroom

Aww...the luxury (hahaha).

Today is a Sad Day

We took Winston out of the bath, brushed his hair and...it laid flat. Up until now it has stuck straight in the air. Today is a Sad Day!

Move #4 (and #6)

Saturday we moved to Murray. This is my 4th move (and Sam's 6th, including his moves to/in Colorado) since we've been married. We actually really like moving, except for the loading/unloading the truck part. We have a photo of our HUGE mess...somewhere...stay tuned. Wow did we have a mess. Okay, we still have a mess, but it's better than it was.
We've been madly trying to finish some other 2nd-job projects that are frankly driving us both mad. Classes start on Monday and I'm behind on my online class because the textbook publishers came out with a new edition--on TWO of the books I use. Erg.

Oddly, our apartment is even more quiet than the one in Duchesne. Last Monday we had tons and tons of errands and we both mentioned how we want to go back to Duchesne, but then we realized that everytime we left Duchesne to run errands, it turned out to be a crazy, busy day, so it's not really any different.

Next up, our newly purchased car. As soon as we get internet access at our apartment.

The Plan

Sam and I have spent the last few months wondering how we got to be where we are, why we are here, and where we will be going (har har...). And as of 2 days ago, all the pieces in the plan have fallen into place.

Sam starts his job with Granite School district next week. We are moving to a some-what small (sigh) apartment in Murray this coming Saturday. And (most recent news), I'll be able to keep my job--but transferring to Salt Lake County to a part-time position.

We will definitely miss the people in Duchesne. They really are very neat and friendly people. I hope to maintain contact with so many of them.

How It Goes

During the six weeks of maternity leave after having Winston, I was amazed at how much I was able to do. I jumped back into an exercise routine. We had meals for lunch and dinner. The house was clean. I wrote in my journal every couple of days at least. Scripture study didn't compete with anything. The time home was very relaxing.

Aww...those were the days.

I've been working full time for about six weeks now. There are so many things that just get put on the back burner. Things like:
- Exercising (haven't done much other than walk to work and back)
- Cooking (we've had edamames, grilled cheese, waffles/pancakes, chips & salsa, or PB&J...over and over again)
- Cleaning (wow. I'm embarrassed how cluttered our house is...double cluttered, too, because we're moving in 10ish days)
- Packing (we've only packed like 4 boxes...lots and lots more to go)
- Getting ready in the morning (good thing I have a hair cut that is a little less high-maintenance)
- Emailing and blogging (you should see my inbox...and I probably haven't seen your blog in a while...sorry)

I'm not sure how anybody works full time and gets stuff done. Of course, Sam is also working 10 hour days, which makes a difference. And we've been traveling a TON on weekends, just to get stuff done for the move, and also for family things, work, a mini-vacation, and errands.

I'm glad I won't be working full time after next week. I'm gonna need the time to recoup.

Because He's Irresistibly Cute

People come up to me all the time and tell me that Winston is the cutest baby they have ever seen. And they usually comment on at least one of the following things: his hair, his big, wide eyes, how alert he looks, how he looks like his dad, or how one of their family members can't stop talking about how cute he is.
