Sneak Peak

We've been busy the last couple weeks trying to finish our home, or at least enough to move in. We officially moved in and slept here last Saturday. We lived about 5 days without internet as we waited for it to be hooked up, and I can't believe how...well.... naked I feel without it.

While we are still doing some LOTS of things here and there, here's a few sneak peaks of how it is coming together.

And a week before we moved our furniture in, we decided to celebrate Winston's 1st b-day in our empty home. I can't believe it has been a whole year since he was born. I'm not sure he can believe it, either.

I'll Be Seeing You Again, San Francisco

San Fran is definitely a city I will visit again. Some places I visit I don't necessarily care to re-visit, but not this place. In addition to the Golden Gate Bridge, it's filled with fun places we explored.

(the walk 3 blocks up to the top of Lombard street from Ghiradelli's Square to the north was quite the hike! Talk about making Old Main Hill in Logan look like a wee little climb, and we were pushing strollers!)

(I'm not a seafood lover, but I had some clam chowder and a taste of fried shrimp and some sort of fish stick. It wasn't bad, but I will still claim I don't like seafood.)

How Things Go

The last few days have been like this:
- change dirty diaper on kiddo #1
- feed the masses
- change another dirty diaper on kiddo #2
- get someone (and then everyone) a drink
- change kiddo #2's again, because apparently this one likes to do her business in a clean diaper
- clean up the kitchen mess
- change kiddo #3
- feed the masses again
- settle an argument between the two oldest
- stop one of the kids from hitting the other
- feed the masses
- get down some toys that are out of reach
- fill up cups for drinks
- change kiddo #1
- change kiddo #2
- take toys away from older kids because they are fighting over them
- change kiddo #3
- prepare bottle for baby and put down for nap
- nurse W. and put down for nap
- think I get to relax a few minutes before starting lunch
- but then I get to start at the top one more time

Thankfully I have an angel mother who is also a saintly grandmother. These children get a special sort of sparkle in their eye when they are around her. Good thing we've spent the last few days with her, or I'd be insane for certain.

Insane, or what?

I agreed to watch my nieces and nephews for a week. That makes 5 kids under age 6. What was I thinking? It's really going okay, but I'll be glad when everything goes back to normal. And I'm sure they will be, too.

It Doesn't Look Golden To Me

My sister-in-law, Jana, and my niece, Morgan, traveled with me to San Fran for a conference. We've had a fun time sight seeing and watching these two little ones interact.

More to come.

Floors and More

Sam worked all day long Saturday with hardly any break to get the floors in the upstairs bedrooms. It looks awesome!

The refrigerator and stove were also delivered and installed Saturday. I am shocked at how big the fridge is--we're going to love having all that space!

Next on the to-do list includes:
- installing the railing/baulster
- finishing the flooring in the living room
- painting and installing the trim/moulding
- painting the cupboard doors
- hanging all doors
- cleaning, cleaning, cleaning

It's so close to being done, yet so much more to do.

PS I've decided I like the kitchen green since the second coat is on. And it looks even better at night.
