Our First Day of Saturday Work

Today is the first Saturday in a long, long time that Sam and I have been in Duchesne (and not traveling). And so, to work we went (we made sure to have a yummy strawberry and waffle breakfast before we began, don't you fear).

I ground at least 20 cups of wheat, with the hefty wheat grinder I indirectly inherited from my grandmother. I prefer to do a little less than that, but we decided to do more, so that next time we want anything that calls for flour, we have enough.

While that was grinding, we both gathered our stuff and packed our bags for our adventures next week (stay tuned).

Next, we cleaned out our patio with the broom and sprayed it down with the hose. I'm amazed at how dirty people can let things like that get. Yuck!

Next, we weeded our garden (which really hasn't yet happened this year--it needed it badly), and harvested some of our home-grown spinach. Then I decided to spray the outside of the house to rinse off all its spider webs and dirt that I'm sure has built up over many years. It also felt really nice to be misted and sprayed by the cold water.

All of that was completed by about 2pm. We still have the whole day and night ahead of us! I think we'll plan more time to be home on Saturdays. It's the perfect day to get things done.
