Lately I've been super excited to wake up every morning. Want to know my secret? Oatmeal with craisins and the dried apples from the LDS cannery. Yuuummmy! (My mouth is watering just thinking about it!)
What you do is blend some old fashioned oats in the blender (about 4 cups), and then put 1/2 cup in a little zip-lock bag. Add 1 tablespoon of craisins and 1 tablespoon of dried apples. Then you have instant-oatmeal-baggie breakfast ready to go for the next 8 days! Just add 1 cup of milk or water and microwave for about 3 minutes, adding honey to sweeten it up a little.
Today I didn't have any more ready-to-heat bags of my favorite oatmeal combo. So I turned to Bob instead. If you haven't become acquainted with Bob yet, next time you go down the cereal aisle, look on the opposite side of the boxed cereal and viola! Bob! My favorite is the 10 grain cereal. Just add water and microwave. Then add whatever you like--craisins, apples, strawberries, nuts, whatever. You'll definitely get your share of fiber for breakfast, and be on your way to having a healthier heart, too! So, kudos to Bob for supplying us with a wonderfully easy way to get pure whole grains. (Bob and his assortment of packaged heaven is available in a cereal aisle near you...unless you live in Duchesne.)
